On my last tutorial I’ve already wrote about rip your favorite audio CD to MP3. Now I’m going to write about ripping your favorite DVD Movie. It is not as hard as you might think it is.
You only need 2 software in order to accomplish this, AutoGK and DVD Shrink. Both softwares are free ware, so grab it without hesitate.
Outline of the step are, 1st you need extract your DVD movie and 2nd to rip that raw files (around 3-5gb) to avi files (around 700mb - 1.4gb)
Ok, without further ado, here is step by step explanation
1. Install all softwares you just download
2. Insert your favorite DVD, open DVD Shrink and choose your DVD drive where you put your DVD movie.
3. First go to Edit and Setting and choose Output Files tab. Set your setting like below. (don’t like to follow recomendation :p)
4. Press Re-author and you will see lots of file on the right side, don’t confuse, you just need Main Movie files, so double click on that files to make it go to the window on the left.
5. Go backup! and you will see something like below. On Backup target choose your Hard disk instead of your DVD burner drive. Wait around 5-10 minutes, depends on your DVDROM speed.

7. Open AutoGK and 1st go to advance setting, and makes it look like picture below. My preferences is like this, but the only thing you only want to set is the resolution.
8. STEP1: Choose you input (where you save your raw file from DVD Shrink). Output is automaticaly set according to input.
STEP2: Audio track, I suggest stays with AC3 to reduce the size. And choose subtitle you want to include, in my case, my DVD don’t have any subtitle.
STEP3: Choose Predefined size and set it to 700MB if your movie is below 2hours, and 1.4gb, if your movie is 2hours+
9. Press add Job and Start. Wait… wait… and wait… this process took times depend on your PC spec. Mine took 1hour+ as you can see on the picture below. The quality of the ripped movie was very good ^^. You can always try the setting to match your needs.
