Windows 7, is it too early?

Windows7

The upcoming version of Windows called Windows 7 (previously codenamed Blackcomb and Vienna) already entering Milestone 1, and available for key partners this January for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. And according to Microsoft, Windows 7 is the last version which support 32-bit. Uh-oh…

What are the features in Windows 7? Well… we do know that Microsoft still focusing on release and marketing of Windows Vista, so they are very silence about discussing whatever about Windows 7.

Further browse through the net, I found some features described by Wikipedia. They are, Gadgets being integrated into Windows Explorer, a Gadget for Windows Media Center, and a new XPS Viewer. An included feedback tool reportedly lists the ability to store Internet Explorer settings on a Windows Live account, Windows Presentation Foundation versions of Calculator, Paint and WordPad, and a 10 minutes install process as coming features.
Everybody gonna love the last part, which offer 10 minutes installation process… but computer specs will effect this feature, since we don’t know yet what specs can make 10 minutes installation process.

Windows 7 is schedule to be release on 2nd quarter of 2009, which is only 3 years after the released of Windows Vista.
In my opinion, Microsoft made to “fast” move about releasing this new version. Why I say so? For personal user like me, I don’t think I can afford to change OS that quick, I just moved to Vista for about 3 months and I don’t even yet try it’s Service Pack 1. And for new OS usually there are 2 main problems: compatibility issues, and bugs.

It is just my humble opinion. I don’t know what Microsoft planning, maybe they have a better marketing strategy to penetrate the market with their new Windows 7 next year. Let us again wait for that moment.
