When you have lots of music CD collection and you want to hear all of your favorite song, but… your songs spread across some CD, what would you do? Do you change CD each time you want to hear your favorite music? Nah.. that too troublesome.
If you have same problem like me you may probably find this article useful for you. I’m gonna convert all of my favorite songs from my CD into MP3 format inside my computer.
What you’ll be needing are as follow:
1. CDex
2. AudioShell
3. Your favorite player (iTunes, Winamp, Foobar, etc) Mine is iTunes.
First step - Converting
Put in your favorite CD or DVD ROM and open CDex (I presume you already install the above 3 software). You will see list of Songs from the CD.
Choose your favorite Songs by pressing SHIFT and Click which track you want to choose. After you finish press the 2nd button on the right side.
You’ll see some progress bar, with jitter (error:0) make sure this number keep 0. How? Just keep all of your program closed when you do this ^^
When your done, navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Music\MP3\ to find your mp3 songs. This is the default storage form your mp3 if you convert from CD. You could always change this location from SETTINGS.
Second Step - Renaming
So you finish converting all your favorite song into MP3 format. Now, you don’t want to see your song name like Track01, Track02 right? Of course you don’t want, then go on with the second software AudioShell.
Right click on one of your converted song and choose [PROPERTIES], you should see 2 additional TABS on the top, AudioShell Information and AudioShell Tag Editor.
Now go to AudioShell Tag Editor and input all your favorite song information.
Save all information if you feel it is already correct.
Third Step - Enjoying
After all your hard work from step one and step two, now it is time for you to enjoy your songs. Again I presume you already installed one of your favorite MP3 player. I choose iTunes to manage all of my MP3 files.
I like iTunes because you can add all of your songs but in the same time you can choose which one you want to play, and also you can give rating to certain songs. I feel that iTunes is far more superior player compare to others I tried.
Check the picture below, I really like this “Album Artwork Cover Flow“, just choose which album artwork you want to play and double click on it to play the song.
That’s it, I hope now you can enjoy your music better and of course all 3 softwares I recommend is all FREE. But you are free to donate if you wish to support the creator to make the more sophisticate software.
